Interview with Alina Poloboc: Miss Arteast

by Palma Beach

Alina Poloboc

Where were you born?

I was born in the Republic of Moldova, in the city of Bender.

How would you describe yourself?

A passionate, sensitive and creative person who knows what she wants, and when I have a goal, I do my best to achieve it. I have no regrets; I live life to the full and enjoy every minute of it. I love travelling and exploring the world; I love meeting new people and discovering different cultures. I am very positive and optimistic, so I like to surround myself with people who have the same characteristics as me.

When did you first realise that you wanted to be an artist?

It all happened very quickly and suddenly; I never thought that one day I would become a painter, nor that one day I would be unable to imagine my life without art and painting. I always loved it, but since I arrived in Palma de Mallorca 10 months ago, painting is a daily activity for me, and I want my life to be connected with this form of art.

Do you have any eccentricities when you are working?

I love to paint alone listening to music that inspires me, and I always keep my tools clean and in a perfect condition. Where I paint is very important to me. I always burn lots of candles which impart a kind of calm, clean energy to my studio. It is also necessary to have good light and to do a few meditation exercises before beginning the creative process.

Do you love any particular colour?

The colours which I love, and which at the same time reflect my nature, are red and white. Red, because it expresses energy, passion, assurance and confidence. For me, white signifies purity, nobility, divinity and freedom.

A favourite art museum?

The Louvre.

Your great passion?

I love a healthy lifestyle, music, dancing, food, reading, travelling and learning foreign languages.

And your favourite meal?

My favourite foods are paella, seafood, watermelon... and there are many others.

Your perfect cocktail?

Piña colada, Hugo and Puerto de Indias gin.

How do you see Palma Beach in 10 years’ time?

Palma de Mallorca has become one of the best places in Europe; this is the reason why more and more people have come to live here recently. Plus, people are investing capital in different areas. I believe that in 10 years, Palma Beach will have been transformed into a popular part of the island.
